First Presbyterian Day School is interested in the uniqueness of every student. Recognizing that children have different learning abilities and learning styles and may require various levels of support, the school offers the LAP Program to tailor make assistance for the individual student. The Learning Assistance Program serves currently enrolled students through two levels of help.1.
Academic Tutoring: A student experiencing academic difficulty may be referred for tutoring in a specific discipline or for help managing time and improving skills.2.
Comprehensive: To qualify for the comprehensive program the student must have a psychological evaluation diagnosing a learning difference or ADD/ADHD (The information at these web sites does not necessarily reflect the policies at FPD).
The student will be assigned to a learning specialist who will design a strategy to improve performance.
