Winner of the 2007 Alumni Service Award: Allen Peake '79

Hope Hahn '87 Shields and Allen Peake '79

The Alumni Service Award is given annually to an alumnus who has shown continued and exceptional support of FPD. We are proud to announce this year’s recipient as Allen Peake from the class of 1979.

Allen’s love for the school is evident through his generosity and constant willingness to give back to his alma mater. This well known FPD graduate can be seen most afternoons in the fall helping coach the JV cross country team. For the past eight years Allen has given countless hours to the cross country program.

Allen has served on the alumni board since its beginning in 2003 and was alumni board president for two years. He has served as a Career Day speaker to seniors on many occasions.

Allen has been involved outside of FPD as well. He has served on the scholarship committee of the Georgia State Golf Foundation, and has supported numerous charities in the Middle Georgia area, including Sav-a-Life Crisis Pregnancy Center, Covenant Care Adoption Agency, Methodist Youth Home, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Young Life.

Allen has been married to Betsy Middlebrooks ’80 Peake for 24 years, and has 3 children– Kristi and Joby, both FPD grads and Corrie, an FPD 7th grader.  Allen just completed his first term in the Georgia State House of Representatives.

Allen, we thank you for your love and support. You were here when the doors opened in 1970 and we are glad you are still here 37 years later. We honor you with the 2007 Alumni Service Award.
