What is the Annual Fund?
The annual fund is an annual ask for gifts to be used for those things that tuition does not cover. Tuition covers highly competent and gifted teachers, helpful support staff, rigorous academic curriculum, state of the art Fine Arts programs, competition in 13 athletic programs as well as academic facilities. When you give a gift to the annual fund your tax-deductible gift makes possible mobile lap-top labs, covered walkways, elementary gardens, additional software and other “extras”!
When does the Annual Fund begin and end?
The annual fund runs with the regular school year. It begins every year on June 1st and ends on May 31st. Any gift received after May 31st will be posted to the new Annual Fund year.
What is the difference between designated and undesignated dollars?
Undesignated gifts are those given to the general fund. Sometimes we will ask for gifts for a specific purpose and families will respond accordingly. These gifts would be considered designated because they are designated for a specific use such as “girls’ soccer.”
If I give a gift to the Annual Fund will I be asked for any more gifts during the year?
Every 5-10 years we will have a major capital requirement, usually for buildings, and we will have what we call a Capital Campaign. As the name denotes, this would be a campaign that would raise a large amount of money and usually will require muli-year pledges. This year we are in need of a new High School building and renovations to all of the other academic buildings. This requires $7,000,000 to complete. We are in the process of raising this money through a Capital Campaign called “Excellence Continues.”
How can I make a gift to FPD?
We are now set up to receive gifts many different ways. We can receive cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or stock gifts. We can also bill you with your tuition if you wish. Just let us know how you would like to give and we will set it up for you.
