The John E. Richards Society
The John E. Richards fund was established to glorify God and to honor Dr. John Richards’ role in the founding of First Presbyterian Day School. Dr. Richards was the pastor of First Presbyterian Church from 1956-1972. He and several other visionaries had a dream to open a Christ-centered college preparatory school. By God’s grace, First Presbyterian Day School has continued to be blessed with faculty, staff and students who have glorified God with their many gifts.
The John E. Richards fund will provide financial resources to FPD through planned gifts. The vision of FPD is "to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory." Making a planned gift is a simple way to help ensure that the vision of FPD becomes a reality not only today but for generations to come.
By making a planned gift you will become a member of the John E. Richards Society and receive the joy of supporting FPD’s vision. Additionally, you may receive immediate and future tax benefits, possibly increase your retirement income, and become an example to your family and others.
6 easy ways to join:
- Prepare a will with a bequest, remainder trust, gift annuity, lead trust and/or retained life estate plan.
- Leave a gift in your will for FPD be-cause it made a difference in your life.
- Consider using assets (such as stocks, bonds and other investments rather than cash) for your charitable gift. Such gifts may provide additional tax advantages.
- Name FPD as the beneficiary of your individual retirement account or pension plan.
- Name FPD as the beneficiary of a new or an existing life insurance policy.
- Remember deceased loved ones with memorial gifts to FPD.
Keep Scanning Those Kroger & Publix cards!
Kroger and Publix continue to reward our school with big bucks when you use your cards at check-out. Sometimes we forget when we have to scan the Kroger plus card and the Kroger commitment card but keep using the cards! This year we received $4,776 just from scanning our cards. Come by or call if you need additional cards.
Soccer Field House Is Complete
On September 14th we dedicate the Girardeau Field House to the Glory of God and in memory of Dr. Girardeau. We are thankful for the many generous donors who have made the Dr. James Girardeau Memorial Soccer Field House a reality. Under the leadership of Mrs. Leslie Girardeau many of Jim’s friends and family as well as many of the FPD parents contributed designated gifts to fund fully the construction of a soccer field house for our athletes.
Thank you!
E.J. Grassman Trust
