HIGH SCHOOL & MIDDLE SCHOOL

January 12

  • TODAY’S REHEARSAL FOR OMG – OPPOSITE MACHINE GADET (the middle school play) HAS BEEN CANCELED!
  • Mock Trial will meet Tuesday night @ 6:30
  • Ceramics students from semester 1 please come pick up your work.  It has been fired.
  • The 2nd annual All FPD Open Chess Tournament will take place during Spirit Week. The tournament is open to all Middle and High School students. Games will take place immediately after school in the Library on Tue, Wed, and Thursday.  Each player will play 1 game on each day. Both players in a game will have 30 minutes to complete all their moves (so games will wrap up by around 4 o’clock at the latest). There is no entry fee. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will be awarded during the Friday Pep Rally. NOTE: You MUST register for the tournament by email, no later than  TODAY, FRIDAY, January 12th. Send your email of notification to matthew.hopper@fpdmacon.org. Pairings will be planned over the weekend.
  • Community Service: Come get some CS hours at the HS Robotics Tournament TOMORROW, Saturday, 1/13 in the ZAC. Contact Mrs. Tesch-Jerles for details.  (Tami.Tesch-Jerles@fpdmacon.org)
  • Any 7th and 8th grade student trying out for MS Baseball needs to meet in H109 TODAY, Friday, January 12th during activity period.
  • Students (both guys and girls) in grades 6-12 with interest in any of our competition dance teams should come to Mrs. Gray’s room (H121) during advisory TODAY, Friday, January 12th for more information.  Middle school teams are a new option this year!  We currently have competition hip hop and competition prop teams.  Hip Hop will be working with local choreographer Miguel Paredes and coached by Lydia Gray.  Prop is choreographed and coached by Dr. Andrew Strickland. We compete at exciting destinations around the U.S. and we are often able to work around practices for other teams and activities.  If you would like more information but you cannot come on Friday, contact Mrs. Gray at lydia.gray@fpdmacon.org.  If you are interested in the prop team, contact Dr. Strickland at Andrew.strickland@fpdmacon.org.

  • Any 9th – 12th grade students trying out for BASEBALL will meet TODAY, Jan.8th after school in Coach Turley’s room, H113.  This meeting will be very brief.  Tryouts for 9th-12th will be Monday, Jan. 15th.  You must have an updated physical to tryout.  If you have any questions please contact Coach Bryant!

  • Any male or female students that are interested in playing Varsity Soccer are asked to attend an informational meeting TODAY, Monday, January 8th.  This will be held in the lecture hall from 3:25 – 3:55.  Any students considering soccer this spring need to attend this important meeting. If students have after-school practice in a current sport, please come by right after school to pick up a player packet and profile and then you will be excused. Daily soccer practices begin Monday, January 15th.
