Head Coach
Founder of the Cross-Country program at FPD, beginning in 1999 * Currently serves as Sports Information Director, Athletics Advertising & Website, Head Boys & Girls Cross-Country and Track & Field Coach * Graduate of Samford University (1997) with a B.S. in Public Administration * Received M.A.T. from Georgia College and State University in 1999 * Chad is a graduate of Mt. deSales Academy (1993) where he was a 5-time letterman in track * Region 2-AAA Cross-Country Coach of the year ten times, directing the FPD Boys to Region Championships in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005 and State Championships in 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005 and the Girls to Region Championships in 2001, 2003, 2004 & 2005 * Named GISA AAA Boys Coach of the Year in 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005, Girls Coach of the Year in 2005 and Macon Telegraph Girls Coach of the Year in 2002 * In Track & Field he led the boys and girls teams to GISA Region 2-AAA and GISA AAA State Championships in 2005, with the girls’ team repeating as Region & State Champion in 2006 * He was awarded the GISA Coach of the Year for all three track teams * Coach McDaniel was honored with the yearbook dedication by the Class of 2002 and was named Star Teacher by FPD Star Student Cam Childs in 2003 * Married to FPD alumni Stephanie Mitchell ’91 * Daughters Betsy (4-4-01) and Ginny Kate (2-1-06) and son Stafford (6-14-03) are wonderful * He enjoys spending time with family, all things sports related, reading, running, music and ultimate frisbee in his spare time. |
