| STATE CHAMPIONS The 2007 varsity soccer team won the AAA State Championship with a 1-0 overtime win against Mount De Sales Academy. The match was controlled by the Vikings but there was no scoring in the match until sophomore Kelsey Black put away a goal with just 26 seconds left in the first overtime. Senior goalkeeper Ansley Teipel helped keep the match even until then. Click HERE for more on the State Championship title! |
Vikings win 2007 Dominion Shootout FPD varsity girls won their second straight tournament at the 2007 Dominion Shootout held in Marietta. The team allowed just one goal for the second straight tournament and faced AAA rivals Dominion, Augusta Prep, and North Cobb. Laura Harris, Kendall Goodman, Catherine Harris, and Emily Morgan were named to the 2007 Shootout All-Tournament team. |

The team allowed just one goal for the second straight tournament and faced AAA rivals Dominion, Augusta Prep, and North Cobb. REGION CHAMPIONS! The 2007 FPD varsity team is the 2007 Region 2AAA Champions! The Vikings have secured the #1 seed for their bracket in the GISA AAA playoffs and will have a first round bye. FPD will host the semifinal round on Thursday, May 3 against North Cobb Christian at 7:00. The Eagles won their first round match in an overtime shootout with Central Fellowship 6-2. FPD beat North Cobb at the Dominion Shootout early this seaon. Go Vikings! |
| FPD varsity team wins 2007 Frederica Cup. The varsity girls soccer team traveled to St. Simons on March 16-17 and won the Frederica Cup Tournament. The Vikings went 2-0-1 for the weekend to capture the title. This was the first trip to the Cup since FPD won the tournament in 2002. The Vikings played their finest match to date in a 1-1 tie with defending state champion Frederica Academy and then defeated Valwook and Mt. Vernon. FPD allowed just one goal over the 3 game tournament. |
FPD B-Team wins the 2007 B-Team Showcase. The JV soccer program kicked off the season with a clean sweep at the Showcase tournament. The Vikings defeated Tattnall and Deerfield 3-0 and then Mount de Sales 3-1 in the Championship match. This is the second straight championship for FPD and the Vikings allowed just one goal during the tournament. Mackenzie Kross, Katie Scott, Rebecca Miller, and Melissa Hash were named to the 2007 All-tournament team. |
