The FPD elementary school collected over 8,000 box tops for education from mid-September to October and was rewarded with a dress-up from elementary principal Wade Putnal.

Putnal portrayed “Cat in the Hat,” a famous character created by Dr. Seuss. Students also received a “No Homework Pass” for their contributions.

The box tops raised over $800, which will be given to the school to purchase educational items that will be available to all students.

“We are proud of the girls and boys for their work on this,” Putnal said. “Collecting all of these box tops within just one month shows that the children at FPD are eager to accept and meet a challenge.”
