FPD Students Sculpt Hundreds of Plates and Bowls to Benefit Community Programs

During the month of January, students in Mrs. Nancy Butler’s art classes as well as the Art Club at FPD have been crafting hundreds of plates, bowls, vases, and cups as part of FPD’s annual Empty Bowls event. The clay pieces are each unique, student-made creations that are painted, glazed, and kiln-fired in preparation for the event.

On Friday evening, February 3, during the home basketball games, the pieces of pottery will be sold for $10 – $20 each. Along with selecting pottery, guests can dine on homemade chili, soup, and bread. Sales begin at 5:00 p.m. in FPD’s Middlebrooks Athletic Center and the public is invited to attend.
