Below is a selection of summer camps that include enrollment opportunities for students rising in middle school grades and/or high school grades.

Fun with Friends

Laughter, Lockers, and Lunch
For girls rising in grade 6

Reconnect with old friends and meet some new ones! Learn ways to be organized for middle school using Outlook calendar and other organizational apps for a successful year.  Plus, get crafty and create personalized locker decorations. Lunch provided.

Spirit Week
For boys and girls rising in grades 6 – 8

Are you excited about getting to high school and participating in Spirit Week? Come join us for a spirit-filled week of activities just for middle school students! We’ll enjoy Lip Sync Day, Relay Day, Community Service Day, Messy Game Day, and more! Come show your school spirit and have a week of fun filled competition!

Algebra Review
For boys and girls rising in grades 6 – 8

Need extra math help in order to gear up for Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1?  Come join us for 3 days of math activities to get you ready for the year to come.

Leadership Camp
For boys and girls rising in grades 6 – 8

Students will work on positive character traits, team-building, and cooperation. Sessions will include various topics and activities such as team-building exercises, everyday dialogues, and Bible study. This is a great program for any middle-schooler who wants to know more about what it takes to be a successful, godly leader. Students can attend any two dates from the dates listed below. **Please email James Moore at james.moore@fpdmacon.org to confirm the 2 dates you have chosen.

SAT Prep Class
For students rising in grades 10 and 11

Get ready to take the SAT in this prep class led by FPD Director of College Counseling, Brad Thompson. Geared toward new SAT test-takers, this class will go over each section and will also cover how to register, what the test looks like and other helpful information for SAT test takers. This preparatory class will greatly increase a student’s opportunities for a higher score on the SAT.

Video Game Creation Camp
For boys and girls rising in grades 2 – 8

Students will develop a range of coding and problem- solving skills as they create fun video games.  Game designers will think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively to create various video games.  Each Game Design unit includes a themed mini-model built with LEGO ® bricks that will be the main character of all of the games.  Each game progressively teaches more advanced capabilities within the video game design software.  Students will be proud and excited to actually play their very own completed video games.

Robo Chicks

Stop Motion Video Camp
For boys and girls rising in grades 3 – 8

In this unique and creative camp, student will plan, script, stage, shoot, and produce their own mini-movie using stop motion animation. Campers will use LEGO bricks to tell a story, complete with music, special effects, and all of your favorite LEGO ® mini-figure characters.

The World of Harry Potter
For boys and girls rising in grades 2 – 8

Do you love all things Harry Potter? Come spend a fun-filled week of activities related to the Harry Potter books. Your week will begin with a sorting ceremony followed by creating crests and drinking butter beer. The week will also include house competitions and crafts as well as acting out different scenes from the Harry Potter books. Friday will conclude with awarding the House Cup.

Girls Future Basketball Stars
For girls rising in grades 5 – 8

Future Stars Camp for girls will combine drills for improving skills while playing and having fun. If you are interested in playing on the middle school girls team next year, this camp will help you make the team.

Cheerleading Mini Camp/ Competition Camp
For girls rising in grades 3k-6

Learn the basics of cheerleading with the FPD JV and Varsity cheerleading squads! We’ll learn cheers, dances, and introductory stunting and tumbling.  We’ll also talk about what it means to be a cheerleader (or a team and for life!), play a lot of fun games, and have dress up days throughout the week.

Viking Soccer Camp
For boys and girls rising in grades PreK – 7

Learn the game of soccer in a challenging and fun environment.  Receive soccer training through games and competitions while learning basic rules, techniques, and what it means to be a Christian athlete. All participants will receive a t-shirt.

Wrestling Camp
For boys rising in grades 1 – 8

Learn the fundamentals of wrestling.  Participants will be paired by weight and age.  Come ready to work hard and learn one of the oldest and most competitive sports.

Superstar Tennis Camp
For boys and girls rising in grades 1 – 6

Campers will enjoy instruction designed to teach them the fundamentals of the game.  Games, recreation, and drills will focus on proper techniques to hit a forehand, backhand, serves, volleys, and introduce campers to the rules of the game.  Campers will be exposed to a sport they can enjoy competitively or recreationally for the rest of their life.  Most of all, it will be FUN!!!! Campers must bring a racquet, water bottle, and wear sunscreen. Snack provided.

Baseball Camp

This camp favorite will focus on the fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting, base running, and pitching.  Each camp day will end in games.

Softball Camp
For girls rising in grades 2 – 7

This camp will include instruction on hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running.  Daily games will enable participants to practice the skills being taught.

Art & Creative Fun – Just for Middle School & High School

Cookie Camp
For teenagers and adults (12 and up)

If you’ve been wanting to learn to bake and decorate cute and fun sugar cookies, this is the class for you! We will share our tips and tricks for baking and icing cookies for every occasion. This hands-on class will cover step-by-step instructions for mixing and rolling dough, followed by learning to make and decorate with easy royal icing. Participants will take home the cookies they decorate on a new cookie sheet!

Vocal Camp
For students rising in grades 6 – 12

Music vocal camp will teach the fundamentals of basic music theory and music reading. Students will also learn vocal training and techniques for their developing voices. Students will select a song and rehearse with vocal teacher one on one. Each student will perform their selections in front of the class preparing for the final performance on the last day of camp.

“Sew Much Fun”
For girls rising in grades 3 – 8

Sewing is so much fun! Come make a beach towel holder, a pillow case, and a craft color pencil bag. Sewing machines and supplies are provided. Spaces are limited. (See sewing class for adults on our Creative Camps page!)

Summer Art – Girls Rule
For girls rising in grades 3 – 6

This “girls only” camp will use a variety of materials to allow artists to express themselves. We listen to music, discuss techniques, and just have some great girl time! We will also go to the playground and eat lunch together (lunches sent from home). This camp is not only great for creating beautiful art, but also provides a “no drama” zone!

Musical Theater Summer Camp
For boys and girls rising in grades PreK – 6

This camp allows children to explore the wonderful world of the performing arts through drama, music, and movement. The camp will focus on songs from Peter Pan, Jr. and will conclude with a demonstration on Friday at 11:30 a.m. followed by a pizza party.

This camp is perfect for the theatre student who would like to improve performance skills, including acting, vocal, and dance technique while working on scenes from Peter Pan, Jr. Parents are invited to see what we learned on Friday, August 3 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
