2019 FPD Service Award
Bobby and Tee George
Over the past 37 years, Bobby and Tee George have supported FPD’s fine arts and athletic programs through their time and gifts.
Mrs. George is a member of FPD’s Legacy Faculty, having retired in May 2019 after 33 years of service in FPD’s preschool. Lovingly known as “Ms. Tee,” she is a favorite among her former students. Many of them also had the privilege of having Ms. Tee as their child’s teacher.
While their daughters attended FPD, the Georges could most often be found greeting visitors while managing the football concession stand on Friday evenings. Their warm hospitality and friendly smiles were always a welcomed site for Viking fans. The Georges even secured a portable concession stand and worked with the local Coca-Cola bottler to install fountain drink equipment that could be used for concessions at off-site FPD events.
The Georges worked with the Exchange Club of Macon to secure funds for FPD’s Backpack Ministry initiative. They hosted multiple football team dinners and chaperoned FPD dances and events. They spent many weekends helping with landscaping around campus, and, most importantly, they served as mentors and counselors to numerous FPD students.
Bobby and Tee George still frequent campus. In addition to their four daughters who graduated from FPD, the Georges have four alumni grandchildren and four grandchildren who are FPD students. They have formed unbreakable bonds with many students and continue to show their love and devotion to First Presbyterian Day School.
About the FPD Service Award – The FPD Service Award goes to an individual who has shown continued service and support to First Presbyterian Day School. This award is presented on an annual basis, if candidates are deemed worthy.
