Each year FPD hosts two to three blood drives on campus at which students ages 16 and older along with parents, faculty, and friends can give blood. The 2018-2019 academic year marks Shane Self’s seventh year at FPD, teaching AP Biology, Advanced Biology, and Chemistry during that time. For six of the seven years he has helped coach FPD’s Varsity football team and this year moved to middle school football. This year, Shane has taken on a whole new role as coordinator for FPD’s Viking Football League (VFL). This is a perfect role for someone like Shane who has a big heart for football and students. Faculty Spotlight: Jenny Clausen, Elementary Science

Mrs. Jenny Clausen has been a friendly face in the FPD elementary science lab, on the nature trails, and in the gardens for the past seven years. Prior to that, she taught fourth grade for five years at FPD and another twelve years at other schools before joining the FPD team. Now, Mrs. Clausen says she is ready for a "career change" and will be running her family's pecan farm in Zebulon, Georgia - and traveling every chance she gets!
