Robotics with Smida Syndicate

for girls and boys in grades 3rd-8th grade

Wilderness Day Camp: Survival Skills

For boys and girls going into 2nd-5th grade 

Survival Skills- Come to one or come to all.
This is a series of Survival Days.

  • Session 1, Friday, June 3: How to Make Fire- Learn what wood is needed to build a fire as well as how to properly set up a fire, and how to light it.
  • Session 2, Friday, July 1: How to Make Clean Water- Learn to make a homemade water filter and other ways to have clean water in the wilderness.
  • Session 3, Friday, July 22: How to make a Base Camp- Learn how to set up a campsite, build shelters, and make the campsite bear safe.
  • Session 4, Friday, July 29: Staying Found and Using a Compass- Learn how to navigate with a compass, learn what to do if lost, learn to make your own compass, and learn how to use nature to find north, south, east, and west.

Handwriting Boost

For boys and girls going into kindergarten-3rd 

By using many sensory activities and FUN, students will learn and practice the correct way to hold pencils and crayons for maximum control and success. We will use a variety of activities approved by occupational therapists (trained in Handwriting Without Tears) that you can practice at camp AND at home. Students will have many brain and movement breaks throughout the mornings at camp. Students will also go home with a special pencil grip and photos that show correct posture and grip options.
