MACON, Ga. – Homecoming brings about exciting times on campus, especially at First Presbyterian Day School.

FPD hosted yet another successful Homecoming Weekend on October 10-11, 2014.

Alumni from the classes of  1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009 all gathered at the Wilson-Anderson Family Pavilion prior to Friday’s home football game vs. Mt. de Sales on Oct. 10. The Vikings went on to win the game 42-21 over the Cavaliers!

Before the football game, FPD recognized its annual Distinguished Alumni Award and FPD Service Award winners.

The 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award was given to FPD Enrollment Director Cheri Frame (Class of 1989).

Frame has made several significant contributions to her alma mater, helping FPD achieve a record high enrollment, beginning the FPD Downtown Campus and developing a thriving International Program. She is married to Rick Frame, also a FPD alum, and has three children who currently attend FPD – 9th grader Sadie, 7th grader Truett and 5th grader Cammie.

The 2014 FPD Service Award was given to Dallis Jones.

Dallis was an original member of FPD’s first Board of Trustees and her three children – Paul Jones III, Sanford Jones McCallister and Louise Jones Geddes – attended the school. She was part of a group of visionary pioneers who founded the school in 1970. Her late husband, G. Paul Jones Jr., served as board chairman and she served as the secretary.

FPD’s George S. Johnson Stadium is named for Jones’ father. In addition, the library is named for Jones’ mother-in-law.

Dallis has remained a faithful supporter of the school through the years. At present, her chief interest is in providing need-based scholarships so children have opportunities to attend a college preparatory Christian school.

At halftime of Friday’s game, senior Tesch Jerles was named the 2014 Homecoming Queen after the annual presentation of the Homecoming Court.

On Saturday, Oct. 11, FPD hosted the 2nd Annual Day School Dash at the George Peake and Anne Peake Cross Country Trail on campus. Hundreds of runners, including alumni, families and friends of the school were in attendance.

FPD sincerely thanks all of its alumni and supporters for a great Homecoming Weekend! Please stay in touch with us and we hope to see you soon!
