The Park

The Park will be an outdoor space that provides the opportunity for students to learn how to practice kindness, build community, resolve conflict and develop cooperation. To an outsider, seeing students playing yard games, sunning on a bank of grass, or gathering on benches having conversations may look like nothing but the time between classes. But to an educator, you see the areas of self-management, decision making, self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship building being learned and fostered. At FPD, we see The Park as a perfect place for students, especially our Middle Schoolers, to develop their social-emotional learning skills.

Give to the Park Campaign

In Honor of Molly Pearson

The Park is also a way to honor Mrs. Molly Pearson and her 30-plus years of service as an educator. Mrs. Peason understands middle schoolers deeply as her last 18 years in education have been spent as the Middle School principal at FPD. She is a champion for the unique needs of middle school students and has worked diligently to develop the best practices that serve the middle school community well. The Park will be a lasting legacy to Mrs. Pearson’s love for and knowledge of our middle school students.
