Marc Whitten, Class of 1992, passed away on August 10, 2018. His classmates offered this loving tribute to their friend….
YET ANOTHER COMEBACK STORY OF A LIFETIME,
WE REQUIRE OF YOU NO MORE.
NONE OF US EVER WALKED A MILE IN YOUR SHOES,
BECAUSE YOU WOULD NOT LET US;
YOU ALWAYS SHIELDED US FROM THE PAIN.
SO GO ON NOW, MY FRIEND, I PROMISE WE WILL BE OK…
SO GO ON…GO JAM WITH JIMI, SOLO WITH DUANE,
PAINT WITH DALI, SAY HELLO TO MILES,
AND FINALLY…GO DIVE THAT GREAT BARRIER REEF.
Marcus “Marc” Blake Whitten, 44, died August 10th following an extended illness with Crohn’s Disease. Marc’s gentle spirit and kind soul will be remembered and cherished by the many lives he touched. His determination, perseverance, and great courage will remain as a remarkable inspiration to those he leaves behind.

The Class of ‘92 will always be richer for knowing Marc. Marc taught his friends to always have a boundless spirit of resilience. He taught his friends to possess infinite compassion. He taught his friends to demonstrate grace, to laugh often, and to love genuinely.
Marc said he was ready to go to heaven and smiled knowing he was going to meet his Maker face to face. Marc was so thankful for the experiences he had with his precious family and dear friends. He would want all of his classmates to live a great story, to make a genuine difference in the world, and to truly value all the blessings life continues to bring.
Psalms 23:1-3: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.
Let us find solace in the fact that Marc is FREE…and rocking Emogene with her burled walnut top, bird’s-eye maple sides, and rosewood knobs in Heaven’s ultimate reverb room.
