April 10

  • Students interested in a demonstration of the robotics team are welcome to come to H325 during advisory on Friday.
  •  FPD’s Advanced Theatre class will be presenting HIGH SCHOOL REUNION this week!  This 30-minute comedy follows five students and their competition to be the most successful in life from their senior prom through a series of class reunions.  Performances will be this Thursday and Friday at 3:30 PM in the Pageant Wagon, FPD’s black box theatre (located at the end of the band hallway.)  The black box theatre only has 40 seats – make sure one of them is yours!  Admission is free.
  • 6TH AND 7TH GRADE BOYS PLEASE TURN IN YOUR FOOTBALL INFORMATION CARDS TODAY, WEDNESDAY, TO MRS. ATKINSON, COACH A, OR COACH JAMES MOORE.
  • APRIL BOOKS OF THE MONTH are BOOKED by Kwame Alexander and IN 27 DAYS by Alison Gervais
  •  The Magnolia Derby Race needs volunteers to work in the kids’ area on Saturday, April 13th, from 9am – 3 pm. You can work part of that shift or the whole time. If you’re interested contact Mrs. Jerles (Room H214 or Tami.Tesch-Jerles@fpdmacon.org)
  •  Registration is now open for the FPD Marching Band.  Our halftime show next year is going to be THE GREATEST SHOWMAN.  Do you have a hidden talent such as juggling, riding a unicycle, gymnastics or tumbling?  Do you play a musical instrument?  Would you like to learn one?  Consider being a part of the FPD Band and the halftime show!  We are also seeking members of the Color Guard (flags and props).  Come by the FPD Band room to sign up with Mr. Baker.
  •  The FPD Jazz Program will be hosting Jazz Night Friday April 26th in the ZACH Gym of the High School Building.  This will be an evening of Jazz Music, Fine Dining, Dancing, and Great Company.  Time:  6:30pm.  Tickets: $15.00.  Tickets will be available through Booktix : fpd.booktix.com Seating will be limited.  Come and enjoy a fantastic night!  Dress is coat and tie for gentlemen, dresses for ladies.
  • Hey Students! The applications are now available for the Kids in Pink Camp for this summer! This is a great opportunity to serve children in our community and get community service hours. If you love children, consider applying for this camp or the Jay’s Hope Camp—these are two great summer opportunities for service!  The slots for both camps fill up quickly, so don’t delayJ!
  • Remember, your student I.D. is also your lunch pass. If you forget or lose your student I.D., you can purchase a new one for $10 (can be added to tuition) from Cindy Martin in the Administrative Building. If you don’t have your student I.D. and are on the dining plan, you can get a single-day lunch ticket in The Viking Store ($2 charge will be added to tuition).  If you are not on the dining plan, the single-day pass is $8 per day for middle school, $9 per day for high school (can be added to tuition). Remember, the three-day meal plan is for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and cannot be swapped with other days.

  • Any 6th-11th grader interested in applying for the Judy Jones Merit Scholarship needs to pick up an application in the HS Office. There will be a $1,250.00 award given to a rising 7th-8th grader and a $1,250.00 award given to a rising 9th-12th grader. The award will be applied to FPD tuition for the next year. Applicants will be judged on service (citizenship), leadership, character and academics. Applicants must have attended FPD for 2 consecutive years. Deadline is TODAY Monday, April 8th.
