November 15

  • STUDENTS….We  have a dress down day tomorrow for Casa Hogar Orphange.  Please bring a generous donation for Fans for the children and you can wear jeans with NO HOLES and a sports jersey!
  • High school robotics will meet every day after school this week!
  • Auditions for the middle school play, THE ENTIRE AMERICAN REVOLUTION IN 40 MINUTES OR LESS, will be held TODAY, Thursday, November 15, from 3:45-5:15 PM in the auditorium.  Please come prepared with either a 30-60 second monologue or a funny story to tell.  See Dr. Strickland for more information
  • FPD’s competition prop dance team, PROPAGANDA, is getting ready to begin a new season.  This team is made up of students of varying dance backgrounds – some learn to dance as a member of the team. PROPAGANDA is known for dancing with swords and other cool items and includes both boys and girls.  We are currently seeking new members for the varsity and middle school teams.  If you are interested, please let Dr. Strickland know right away!
  • Mercer Athletics would like to offer all FPD employees and students FREE general admission tickets for the entire family to this week’s basketball games.  Anyone interested can email athletics@mercer.edu with their request for the exact number of tickets they would like and to the specific games they would like to attend.  Fans interested in purchasing a reserved seat can also do so at tickets.mercer.edu.  Women’s Basketball vs. Florida Gators – Thursday, November 15th at 7PM . Men’s Basketball vs. UT Martin – Friday, November 16th at 7PM
  • Any girls who are interested in competing on the gymnastics team for the 2019 season, please plan on attending an interest meeting on Tuesday, November 27, afterschool from 3:15-3:30 in Mrs. Latimer’s room (M206). If you cannot be there, go see Mrs. Latimer and she will give you the information!
  • Please consider donating the following new or gently used items to be used by Disability Connection! Wheelchairs, Walkers, Shower chair, Crutches. You may bring these items to Mrs. Scott’s office!  If your family would like a tax deductible letter, Mrs. Scott can give you these!  This is a great way to help neighbors in our community!
  • Hey Students! Some of you may need community service hours and want to serve over the Thanksgiving break! Here are a couple opportunities for you: Ring the Salvation Army bell on 11/19, 11/20 or 11/21 at Kroger on Zebulon!  You must sign up THIS WEEK in order for me to get you on the SA’s schedule! Oaks at Peake, the elderly home across the street from FPD, needs help with their Thanksgiving dinner on Monday, November 19.  They need help setting up from 1-5, serving the dinner from 5-5:30, and helping with the dessert table and clean up from 5:30-7.  You could go anytime between those hours.  Please let me know if you are interested so I can give you the phone number over there and let them know that you are coming.
  • TOME SOCIETY – Registration for TOMECON 2019 is now due.  Please see Mrs. Neyman for more information.
  • Any 10th-12th grader interested in an essay competition and a possible trip to Washington, DC, please see Coach Thompson by This Friday, Nov. 16 for more information. 
  • STUDENTS ONLY: BUY YOUR YEARBOOKS TODAY @ www.yearbookordercenter.com
  • Breakfast is served on every late start Wednesday from 7:00-8:45am.  There are a variety of breakfast goodies including an omelet bar!  Stop by and see the delicious items that you might like!
  • Remember, your student I.D. is also your lunch pass. If you forget or lose your student I.D., you can purchase a new one for $10 from Cindy Martin in the Administrative Building. If you don’t have your student I.D. and are on the dining plan, you can get a single-day lunch ticket for $2 per day at The Viking Store. If you are not on the dining plan, the single-day pass is $8 per day for middle school, $9 per day for high school and the charge is added to tuition. Remember, the three-day meal plan is for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and cannot be swapped with other days.

November 12

  • FPD Theatre’s NINE DRAGONS was performed this weekend at the ACSI One-Act Festival in Athens, Georgia.  The show did extremely well in competition, being awarded Best Ensemble and Best Use of Tech.  Ryann Perkins, Daniel Cardis, and Abigail Dean were all named to the event’s All-Star Cast for their outstanding performances.
