On Thursday, Dec. 5, renowned pianist and alumni Dottie Clendenin returns to First Presbyterian Day School for a solo performance to middle and high school students. Dottie began her musical career at age five under accomplished instructor, Marion Gordon. As a young artist, she shared her talent and love for music at local churches, nursing homes, and non-profit organizations. By sixth grade she was ranked number one in the state by the prestigious Georgia Music Teachers Association.
Following First Presbyterian Day School, her educational journey took her to Hollins University and later to the London College of Music. She has performed for audiences at The Cloister, Sea Island, Georgia; The White Elephant Hotel, Nantucket, Massachusetts; The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, Florida; the Paris Church of St. Michael, Highgate, London, England; and with the Seibu Group in Tokyo, Japan. Dottie has two CDs – a Christmas compilation and a recently released album titled Cool Beans. Both are available on Amazon.com.
