Reading & Writing

Handwriting Heaven
For boys and girls rising in grades K – 2

Students will learn the correct way to hold a pencil and crayons for maximum control. We will use a variety of activities approved by occupational therapists (trained in Handwriting Without Tears) that will strengthen these muscles and help them practice in fun ways. Students will have a snack and take home a special pencil grip, along with photos of correct posture, grip options, and activities that can be practiced at home.

The World of Harry Potter
For boys and girls rising in grades 2 – 8

Do you love all things Harry Potter? Come spend a fun-filled week with activities related to the Harry Potter books. Your week will begin with a choosing ceremony followed by creating crests and drinking butter beer. The week will also include house competitions and crafts as well as acting out different scenes from the Harry Potter books. Friday will conclude with awarding the House Cup.

Fourth Grade Summer Reading Book Club
For boys and girls rising in 4th grade

Let’s grab some friends and Lunch Money, one of your summer reading books, and have a page-turner of a good time! Go on an adventure with character Greg Kenton and learn that any child with a passion can make things happen! Come with the first 7 chapters already read so we can dig right in on Monday. Throughout the week, we will finish reading the book, discuss, and work through your required book report that will be due in August. Then, you can check your book report off your summer to-do list! Lastly, we plan to incorporate cursive writing, and other fourth grade fundamentals into our week so you can feel ready to start a new school year!

Wacky Science

Join us for a week of weird, wacky, messy, and AWESOME science fun! Your young scientist will have the opportunities to explore science through hands-on activities, experiments and STEM challenges.  Each week is different so come to one or both.

Robots, Coding, Games…Oh My!
For boys and girls rising in grades 3 – 5

The Dash robot is one of the most powerful robots that kids can use to learn, apply, and extend their coding knowledge. Campers will program this fun and colorful robot to move, light up, make sounds, avoid obstacles, and even respond to their voice. Campers will also make mazes for Dash and enjoy a variety of other STEAM and coding activities.

If you love everything games, computers and web, Create It Advanced is the program for you! Learn how to build a website in a hands-on, half-day summer coding program. In the early part of the week, you’ll learn programming terms, wireframing, HTML, CSS and JS basics. Then, you’ll put your knowledge to use as you mock-up your own website and program robots.
