The Landing, our new after school program for middle school students, has been a hit! Since the start of school, numerous students have been served at The Landing location in the MAC lobby, which has been specifically furnished just for this purpose. We are so pleased that this highly requested service is serving so many of our 6th-8th grade students.
The goal of The Landing is to provide a fun, engaging after-school option for students while assisting parents who are not able to be at school by 3:45PM for carpool pick-up. The Landing is supervised by FPD staff and/or faculty with options for after-school games and activities as well time for homework and study. The Landing serves students until 6PM on school days.
There has been no fee for The Landing for the first few weeks of school, and that will continue through September 29. Starting on September 30, fees will be charged for this optional service through your FPD Smart Tuition account, in order to cover the school’s cost to provide it.
The Landing fees are as follows.
0-15 minutes Free
15-45 minutes $5 per day
45 + minutes $10 per day
Weekly rate: $40 per week (if registered in advance)
Late fees: apply for students picked up after 6PM
The school’s safety-focused no roaming policy, means that 6th-8th grade students who are not participating in a FPD after-school activity, and are not picked up by a parent by 3:45PM, will need to report to The Landing, where fees will apply. Late fees apply if a student is picked up after 6PM.
