Art

FPD's elementary art program begins in 3K. The curriculum builds each year giving students a wide range and vocabulary of art mediums and processes.

Music

In FPD Lower School Music, children actively participate in making music! Beginning in 3K, they sing and explore basic instruments. In 4K – 3 rd grade, students come twice a week – once for general music class and once for strings (small violin).

Science Lab

The purpose of Elementary Science Lab is to help students explore God's Creation through experimentation. During each lesson, students perform hands-on activities that support their classroom teacher's Science curriculum.

Chapel

In addition to daily biblical worldview integration into coursework, FPD lower school students enjoy a regular time of worship at our elementary chapels. Fifth graders primarily lead worship at chapel. During the spring, 1st-4th graders rotate through leading worship.

Innovation Station (STEAM Lab)

FPD’s newest lab serves our Pre-K through 5 th grade through cross-curricular lessons that make connections between school subjects in a fun and engaging way. Students take a hands-on approach to solving problems with real-life implications.

Tablet Lab

Students begin Tab Lab each week in PreK, learning about digital citizenship and what the Bible says about the information we consume. Older elementary students learn typing skills, how to do online research and to present their work in a PowerPoint presentation, and learn to write in HTML.

Spanish

In elementary Spanish, the goal is to provide a fun, creative environment where students in K-5th actively learn. Spanish is not only taught, but also “caught.” Students enjoy a variety of games, songs, jingles, stories, and hands-on learning activities.

PE

Physical fitness helps us fulfill our God-given purpose. PE helps students understand the importance of being active and helps them learn how to work as a member of a team. Students start going to PE in 1st grade. In 4 th grade, students learn to play the recorder. Then in 5 th grade, they can choose between joining the band or the chorus
