FPD Welcomes New Faculty Members for the Upcoming School Year

First Presbyterian Day School is excited to welcome two new teachers to Viking Nation for the 2024–2025 school year. With a shared passion for education and Christ-centered community, both bring fresh energy and deep commitment to student growth.

Mrs. Marie Seay – Lower School Spanish Teacher
FPD welcomes Mrs. Marie Seay as the new Lower School Spanish Teacher. A missionary kid who grew up in Argentina, Mrs. Seay developed a deep love for the Spanish language and Latin American culture from an early age. She earned her degree in Elementary Education from Mercer University and has previous experience teaching in elementary classrooms.

She and her husband, Wes, live in Macon with their two children—Elizabeth, who will be in 6th grade, and Matthew, who will be in 1st grade. Mrs. Seay enjoys reading, journaling, visiting local coffee shops, playing board games, and spending time with friends and family. She is also passionate about studying Scripture and applying its truths to daily life.

“My family is delighted to be a part of an intentional, Christ-centered school—where students are taught, hearts are loved, and the gospel is foundational,” Mrs. Seay shared. “I am looking forward to teaching a language so dear to my heart!”

Mrs. Ashley Stokes – 5th Grade Math Teacher
Joining the fifth-grade team, Mrs. Ashley Stokes will teach math to FPD’s rising upper elementary students. A Macon native, Mrs. Stokes graduated from Mercer University with a degree in Mass Communications and later earned her master’s in Early Childhood Education from Wesleyan College.

She has classroom experience in both pre-k and 3rd grade and brings a well-rounded skill set to her new role. Mrs. Stokes and her husband have been married for two years and share their home with their dog, Hans. She describes herself as a foodie and movie lover who enjoys working out, baking, deep-sea fishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

“I am excited to join a school that is Christ-centered,” said Mrs. Stokes, “where everyone—faculty and parents—has an active role in the educational experience of the students.”
