Important FPD Update: Power Outage Expected After School March 19, 2026
Due to the recent storms, Georgia Power is currently working on a power line near the FPD campus. We were notified of an off-campus safety concern, and as a result, Georgia Power will be shutting off electricity to the school today at 3:30 PM, and it will remain off for up to three hours.
Please be aware that one lane of Foster Road will be closed beginning early this afternoon, which may impact traffic during dismissal and after-school pickup.
To alleviate traffic congestion at the end of the day, we will allow High School drivers to leave at the end of 5th period. If you do not want your driver dismissed, please call the High School office. We will communicate with all Upper School students who will be dismissed to call parents before leaving campus to coordinate younger sibling(s) picked up.
Elementary carpool will begin at 2:30 PM. Parents are welcome to pick up their students early if they would like to avoid the afternoon congestion.
Aftercare, all after-school athletic activities, and the Fine Arts musical Barnum will continue as scheduled.Georgia Power has informed us that a power outage is possible at any time today. If this occurs, we will communicate with families promptly and share our plan.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Matt Kitchell, Head of School
