Lawson Hooper - FPD's September Student of the Month

Student of the Month: Lawson Hooper, 4th Grade

OptimizedImage,,,OptimizedWhen you talk with 4th grader Lawson Hooper, it doesn’t take long to see why he was chosen as FPD’s first Student of the Month this year. With a ready smile and a thoughtful spirit, Lawson radiates the qualities we hope to see in every student—kindness, loyalty, and a heart for others.

Lawson says one of his favorite things about school is the variety of co-curricular classes he gets to experience each day. “I like Tab Lab and PE,” he shared enthusiastically. “Those are super fun!” Beyond the classroom, what he loves most about FPD is simple: “There are a lot of good friends here.”

OptimizedImage,,,OptimizedMusic is another big part of Lawson’s life. He takes piano lessons with Mr. Hutcheson and enjoys the chance to express himself through music. But what truly sets Lawson apart is the way he views friendship. To him, being a good friend means “being kind and loyal, always playing, being helpful, and setting a good example.”

It’s a definition he lives out daily. His teachers see it too.

Lawson is always eager to learn. He loves to help others and always shares Jesus' love with everyone around him. He is a joy to teach every day,” said Mrs. Rana Thigpin.

OptimizedImage,,,OptimizedLawson beautifully exemplifies FPD’s Profile of a Graduate, showing what it means to be a faithful learner, servant leader, and compassionate friend—even at a young age. His eagerness to learn, love for others, and Christlike character remind us of the mission we seek to cultivate in every student

When asked how it feels to be the first Student of the Month this school year, Lawson summed it up simply: “It feels good.” We couldn’t agree more. Lawson reminds us of the heart of FPD students who are growing in faith, learning with joy, and leading with kindness.

Congratulations, Lawson! Thank you to Charlie Pelt Insurance for sponsoring our Student of the Month Program.

A student of the month is selected each month for FPD. The award recognizes students who exemplify godly character, leadership, and excellence by living out the FPD Profile of a Graduate and striving to change the world for God’s glory. Students are nominated by teachers, and the Principal selects the winner from the nominations.
