Student of the Month: Ezekiel Richardson Leads with a Servant’s Heart
For fifth grader Ezekiel Richardson, kindness is about more than simply being nice. It’s an opportunity to live out his faith.
“Because that’s a way we can show God’s love to everybody,” Ezekiel said when asked why it is important to be kind to others.
It’s a belief Ezekiel regularly puts into action. After afternoon carpool one day, he was getting ready for cross country when he noticed another student didn’t have a snack. Without being asked, Ezekiel offered to share his own, reassuring her along the way.

Mrs. Carrie Rogers, Lower School Administrative Assistant, said moments like that aren’t unusual for Ezekiel, who is always willing to help younger and older students alike. His servant’s heart and consistent kindness are among the qualities that helped earn him the honor of being named FPD’s September 2026 Student of the Month.
Now in his fifth year at FPD, Ezekiel began his Viking journey in first grade. Math and science are among his favorite subjects, and outside the classroom, he enjoys cross country, soccer and playing the bass clarinet in band.
His fifth-grade homeroom and science teacher, Mrs. Anna Leigh Hutcheson, said Ezekiel’s character also shines in the classroom.
“Ezekiel is kind and compassionate, always lending a helping hand to others,” Hutchison said. “His joy is infectious, and he brightens every room he enters! He is also diligent in his studies and a leader among his peers.”
When asked what he would tell other students, Ezekiel offered a simple reminder that reflects the faith behind his actions.
“God loves you, and He will never stop loving you,” he said.
Congratulations to Ezekiel Richardson, FPD’s September 2026 Student of the Month!
A student of the month is selected each month for FPD. The award recognizes students who exemplify godly character, leadership, and excellence by living out the FPD Profile of a Graduate and striving to change the world for God’s glory.
