Athletics Varsity Boys Wrestling

Entering his 32nd year on the coaching scene and 19th overall at FPD, Ken Garvin has turned the FPD wrestling team from a new program into a feared opponent.

Garvin’s overall record going into the 2018-19 school year stands at 141-60.

For his successes, he was named GISA AAA State Coach of the Year after leading the Vikings to a 2009 State Championship. The Vikings also finished as State Runners-Up in 2010.

In the GHSA, the Vikings have continued their run of excellence with Garvin at the helm. FPD placed fifth in the 2011 GHSA State Match.

He also serves as an assistant coach on the FPD football team as Defensive Coordinator.

Garvin graduated from high school at Mt. de Sales Academy in Macon and attended Macon State College.

He and his wife Paige have three sons: Mac (Class of 2019), Marshall (11th grade), and Mason (4th Grade).

Garvin and his family attend Northway Church. He enjoys grilling, fishing, and hunting in his spare time.
