Mr. Brad Thompson has been named FPD’s Head Cross Country Coach. In his 27th year at FPD, Coach Thompson has served as a teacher for 12 years and as the College Counselor for 15 years. He is a veteran coach at FPD, where he has been the head coach for JV football, middle school football coach, middle school girls basketball head coach, JV baseball head coach, and varsity boys and girls head tennis coach. He has also been the assistant middle school cross country coach since 2018.
“I fell in love with running during college and just got more involved on campus as Emory (his daughter) started running cross country,” Mr. Thompson said. “I have coached almost all of the varsity runners in middle school, and it is a great group of runners and parents. I am thrilled to take on a bigger role within the program.
Coach Thompson and his wife Katherine (’95) have three children: Olivia, Emory (11th grader), and Brooks (5th grade). They are actively involved at Ingleside Baptist Church.
In his spare time, Brad likes to read, go to the beach, and watch sports.
