First Presbyterian Day School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Shane Hall as the new Upper School Principal, beginning in the 2025–2026 school year. A familiar face to many in our school community, Mr. Hall returns to FPD with a deep love for the school and a wealth of experience in education and leadership.
“Shane Hall is a highly accomplished educator, a great mentor, and a natural leader. His experience, leadership style, and heart for students make him a perfect fit for this role,” said incoming Head of School Mr. Matt Kitchell. “We are thrilled to welcome him back to FPD, and I look forward to partnering with him as we continue to strengthen our Upper School community.”
Mr. Hall began his teaching career at FPD in 2009 and served our school faithfully for 14 years. During his time here, he held a variety of roles including Social Studies Teacher, Social Studies Department Chair, Dean of Students, Varsity Boys Cross Country Coach, Middle School Golf Coach, Yearbook Advisor, and Pep Club Advisor. He was honored as FPD’s Teacher of the Year in 2015 and is remembered by many for his strong leadership, relational teaching style, and steadfast commitment to students’ academic and spiritual growth.
“I am looking forward to returning home to FPD. Since beginning my teaching career at FPD in 2009, this wonderful school family has held a special place in my heart,” Mr. Hall said. “The students, parents, faculty, and staff have made an indelible mark on my life. I will forever be grateful for my time at FPD, and I am thrilled that it is not over!”
Most recently, Mr. Hall has served at The Westfield School for the past two years as Dean of Academics and an Honors World History teacher. His passion for academic excellence and Christ-centered leadership continued to shine during his time at Westfield.
Mr. Hall and his wife, Christina, have two children—Grayson (5) and Melanie Kate (2). They are active members of Houston Lake Presbyterian Church.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Mr. Shane Hall back to First Presbyterian Day School as he steps into this important leadership role. We are confident that his return will be a blessing to our Upper School and the entire FPD community.
