FPD is proud to announce that Mrs. Terri Harper has assumed the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees for the next two years. She began her term Monday, June 26, 2023, as previous Chair, Mr. George Jones, completed his service.

Terri and her husband, Dr. Ken Harper, have strong ties to FPD. Their four children attended FPD and two of their grandchildren currently attend FPD. Terri has served as part of the FPD Faculty, Room Mom, Team Mom, and previously as an FPD Board Member.

Terri is also a long-standing member of First Presbyterian Church. With her connection to FPD and concern for the students, families, and faculty, she was humbled to accept the call to serve FPD once again.

“A few years ago, I was burdened with the cultural changes impacting every institution across America, including public and private schools and our churches,” Terri said. “My concerns led me to pray for protection for our country, families, churches, and FPD. Shortly following my commitment to pray for FPD, I was invited to join the FPD Board of Trustees.”

Terri returned to the FPD board in 2021-2022 where she served on the Trustee Development Committee and accepted the Vice-Chair position in 2022-2023. Her passion and commitment to the mission of FPD, “to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory,” was the driving factor leading her to return as a servant-leader to FPD.

Terri is a nurse practitioner who worked alongside her husband, Dr. Ken Harper, in his medical practice, Vein Specialists of the South, before opening Spa Medical. In addition to being a small business owner, she has been involved in multiple community organizations, including First Presbyterian Church, Covenant Care Services, and Community Advisory Panel for Junior League of Macon.

Terri is a national trainer of medical procedures, a key opinion leader, and a speaker and faculty member of her professional organization. She enjoys her seven grandchildren, working in and on her business, and vacationing in the mountains.

In addition to announcing a new Board Chair, FPD welcomes several new members to the Board:  Mr. Bob Johnson, Mr. Jeremy Johnson, Mr. Ben McElreath, Mrs. Krystal Reeves, and Mr. Jerome Strickland.

“I look forward to working with Terri and all our board members in the upcoming year,” said Head of School Dr. John Patterson. “We are so blessed as a school to have leaders who serve on our board who genuinely believe in our mission and work hard to make FPD the best it can be. I ask that you join me in praying for our board members, our FPD’s administration, staff, faculty, and students as we begin to make it better for the new school year.”
