Summer is the time when many of our buildings and grounds get a little extra attention that is certainly needed after a busy year.

Several projects are currently underway that will provide a fresh new look when students return in August. In addition to the previously highlighted renovations of the Austin Childers Field, three large projects currently in progress are improvements at our Kindergarten Building, International Residence, and Dick Frame Track & Field Complex.

The interior of the Kindergarten Building is getting a fresh coat of paint this summer, along with a new front reception area and new floors.
Crews have already knocked down a wall between the previous lobby and front office and are in the midst of painting. New floors will complete the project, providing a welcoming entrance for our families and guests.

Due to the continued growth of the international program, the International Residence is also undergoing some extensive renovations this summer that will provide more space for international students. In addition to three new bedrooms, the downstairs level of the cottage will feature a kitchenette along with a living and activity space. The house, now called the Jones Family International Residence, will accommodate six to eight international students along with host parents.

While renovations continue on the Austin Childers Field, the surrounding track surface of the Dick Frame Track & Field Complex is receiving a much-anticipated resurfacing. Crews are in the midst of removing the existing surface. After that, a new polyurethane surface will be poured into place.
