Senior Maggie Johnston will soon make her new home in Birmingham, AL.
The FPD star, who throws discus and the shot put for the Lady Vikings, signed a national letter of intent with Samford University in front of students, faculty and staff, family and friends on Friday, April 29 inside the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.
The months of March and April are always busy for the FPD band program. FPD was well-represented in this year's District Honor Bands, All State Band, and South Region Band. Plus, the Jazz Ensemble has multiple upcoming performances including the Grand Opera House and several local churches.
FPD seniors Miller and Michael Durham had a day together they will never forget on Thursday, April 14, 2016. The two twin varsity tennis players signed national letters of intent to play collegiate tennis inside FPD's Middlebrooks Athletic Center in front of students, family, faculty and staff.
The students had a wonderful time living in a different environment, tasting unfamiliar foods, and experiencing a new culture,” commented Sarah Futo. “They not only took away souvenirs and pictures, but also a lasting memory that has touched their heart and will stay with them forever.”
Eight FPD students will take quite a voyage this Spring Break as they embark on what will be the first student exchange trip to FPD’s Sister School, the Xiehe School, in Guangzhou, China.
