Rendering of new complex by FPD 2019 graduate Haley Harden

FPD’s old tennis courts are getting a fresh, new look and purpose as a sports complex named the Pearson-Wall Courts. Made possible by a generous gift by Beverly B. Meadors in honor of Sam and Molly Pearson and Joe and Pat Wall, the courts will include two Futsal courts, three dedicated pickleball courts, four Quick Start tennis courts, and two tennis courts that can also be four pickleball courts.

Over the coming weeks, crews will continue to patch and resurface the old courts in blue and green. Various color striping will designate each sport’s playing area.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Pearson-Wall courts,” said Joe McDaniel, FPD Headmaster. “Mrs. Meadors’s gift is a blessing to our school and our community.”

The courts will open this fall and will be available to FPD families and the community.

“I encourage families to bring their friends to the courts to enjoy pickleball, futsal, and tennis,” said McDaniel. “The courts will be a great addition to FPD’s physical education programs, after-school enrichment programs, summer camps, and to the Middle Georgia community as a whole. We plan to host several after-school and early morning pickleball clinics on the courts this fall to introduce more young players and adults to the game.”
