2020/2021 WINTER SPORTS HOME ATHLETIC EVENTS

Our attention to meeting the safest health recommendations for our students, staff, and school family means that our indoor winter sports for the 2020-21 season will require adherence to several guidelines.  First and foremost, we want safety and best practices to be the standard for how we proceed.  With that in mind, we want to communicate the plan for our upcoming seasons in hopes that you can plan ahead and understand everyone’s role in helping us to keep our student-athletes competing.  As before, these guidelines are fluid, and as such, are subject to change as the season progresses.

SWIMMING

Team members, meet day personnel, and officials ONLY are allowed admission to events.  We regret that all of the swimming venues are limited to very strict protocols, mostly due to space limitations.

WRESTLING & MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL

Team members, cheer squads, game day personnel, officials and IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS ONLY are allowed admission to events.  Spectators will be asked to maintain social distancing in the bleachers, and all in attendance must be screened with a temperature check prior to entry and wear a face covering.  NO concessions will be served at Wrestling or MS Basketball events.  We ask that anyone who does not feel well or who has had symptoms in the last 48 hours, please do not attend the event.  Spectators are not allowed on the competition floor or mats before, during, or after the event.

JUNIOR VARSITY & VARSITY BASKETBALL

Team members, cheer squads, game day personnel, officials and a limited capacity (25% of the gym capacity) are allowed admission to events.  Spectators will be asked to maintain social distancing in the bleachers, and all in attendance must be screened with a temperature check prior to entry and wear a face covering.  Limited concessions will be served at JV and Varsity basketball events.  We ask that anyone who does not feel well or who has had symptoms in the last 48 hours, please do not attend the games.  Spectators are not allowed on the court before, during, or after the event.

TICKETS for Basketball families and cheerleaders can be purchased on the Priority Ticket Order Form that each player received or in the Viking Store.  Families will be given the option to obtain as many as 4 tickets per home date.  JV and Varsity Girls parents will be asked to “return your tickets” in an exchange location outside the MAC as you leave.  Those tickets will then be available on a first-come, first-served basis for others who may need to purchase one or more additional tickets for the day’s remaining game(s).
