First Presbyterian Day School is excited to announce Shane Self as the new Varsity Lacrosse Coach for the 2021 season. Coach Self was the Assistant Coach for FPD’s Lacrosse program for the 2020 season and has coached Varsity-level sports for 21 years. He is in his 9th year of teaching at FPD and his 17th year overall in Christian education. Coach Self is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Master’s degree from Georgia College.

“I want to thank our Administration and Coach Moore for giving me the opportunity to become the Head Coach of the lacrosse program here at FPD,” noted Coach Self. “We have a strong foundation for lacrosse to be successful at FPD. The future is bright and I can’t wait to get started.  Our school has a long and proud tradition of excellence in athletics. I want to thank the previous coaches for allowing me to learn and be successful under their expertise and training.”

The FPD Lacrosse program is one of 25 varsity-level teams at FPD. It is in position to be a strong contender in the 2021 season. FPD Athletic Director Greg Moore commented, “I’m really happy for Shane and for our Lacrosse program. Shane’s desire to see our Lacrosse program achieve new heights, coupled with his understanding of our mission at FPD, will make for a great recipe.  I am confident that our Lacrosse families will be very pleased with his leadership as we move forward.”
