As you may have heard, Governor Kemp announced yesterday that all schools should remain closed until April 24. Following this directive, FPD will remain in a distance learning mode until April 24. Likewise, GHSA followed the Governor’s announcement with a notice that all athletic events will be postponed until that time as well.

I know this is not the news any of us were hoping to hear. We miss having your students on campus and being able to connect with them face-to-face. We were hoping to see them much sooner.

Changes After Spring Break

Thank you to everyone who completed our survey. We are reviewing all of the survey feedback as well as other suggestions that were provided, and we will make adjustments as needed to our distance learning format. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we began this initiative, and we will continue to improve upon it.

To Our Seniors

We recognize that this is a particularly difficult time for our Seniors who are faced with a final high school year that is not even remotely what they expected. Likewise, for our Senior parents, we know this is extremely challenging as you try to comfort your child/student. We hope to see you all again very soon, and we will do what we can to make the most of their final high school days. In the meantime, we pray that God will provide our seniors with peace, strength, and understanding.

Thank You to Our Families

We appreciate your love and dedication to FPD. Thank you for supporting our teachers, coaches, and administrators as we navigate these uncertain circumstances together. We are so very grateful for our FPD family.

Let me leave you with this final note from Galatians 6:9, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” These difficult days can be exhausting, and many of you are juggling numerous responsibilities with new challenges. I encourage you to take heart in knowing that God will provide for your needs. He has great plans in store for you, so find your strength in Him and rest in the peace that only He can provide.

It is a blessing to know that you are praying for our school and for each other. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for your family. FPD is truly a remarkable school. Go Vikings!

Blessings on you all,

Joe McDaniel
FPD Head of School
